Re: [testes] Could not paste event into calendar

I just tried it again with this email. No luck, but I suspect that AOL
can not handle 2.0.

When I tried this earlier and again now, I get an OOPS! from AOL and the
browser shuts down.

I had a problem with the original invitation where AOL would not use the
link as posted. I had to go in through another browser to get my invitation
accepted. Since then I have not had any other problems until today.

John B, are there any known problems with AOL?

I tried a cut from a mailman email announcing the meeting and tried the
paste from clipboard option. I pasted the same cut into a word document and
tried the past from word option. Nothing was pasted.

In one word: plenty. I gave up trying to interface from AOL with even
yesteryear's cut & paste. Sry John. Perhaps you can still long in for your
aol mail without using their browser.
I dumped aol altogether when I realized a lifetime would not suffice to
resolve their never ending tech mishaps.

Thanks but,

There are many brothers who still rely on AOL's browser. Who needs to
accommodate who?

Is MKP prepared to tell me and the other AOL users that we are no longer
welcome unless we change our ISP? I judge this to be not acceptable. 2.0
should be transparent to the user regardless of ISP.

Re: [testes] Could not paste event into calendar

No problem, and thanks for the care I hear John

I do wonder how many brothers, as a %, still do rely on AOL, and how that
is trending. I do hope we verify that data.

I remember a time when accomodation was made for Netscape loyalists (and I
loved it), but those times changed anyway.

Since our beta testing is precisely, to me, about prudently determining
just what "MKP" is preparing (not already prepared) to say to its users, I
concur with 2.0 being transparant to the user regardless of ISP.

I am doubtful about MKP trying to get reliable performance from buggy
browsers however.
But let's test that. . . and kindly determine the highest and best uses we
can say are welcome from the most users, whatever systems work well enough
for today and future functions (that call for a 2.0 in the first place).

AOL and all subjects AOL

Guys,

Before we get off on a tangent here, bashing AOL, let's slow this train down.

As far as AOL is concerned, there are a couple of things I need to investigate.  First of all, AOL is both an Inernet Service Provider and a browser.  I don't believe that there are any problems with AOL as asn ISP.  I will do some snooping around to see if there are problems between drupal and AOL, the browser.

If there are, I believe you can still use AOL as your ISP, use their browser to open their mail and articles, and use another browser such as IE, Firefox, or Chrome to browse the net. My father-in-law is an AOLer and I will talk to him and ask him about it. Nonetheless, we will find some kind of solution that will work for you and your fellow AOLers.
